You CAN Grow
Your Own Food

About Us

We are a group of individuals that are mothers, wives, professionals with a passion for using natural, non-chemical methods to grow food for our families in our backyards. Our passion was sparked by our heritage through our grandparents and parents. We grew up in a community where majority of the food was grown in plots in the backyard and it was meant to be eaten fresh, straight out of the growing patch on to the dinner table. Our ancestors, homesteaders in their own right, used Old World methods which were taught to us and now is our turn to pass these teachings along to our neighbors of all ages and abilities. We experienced first hand the satisfaction of planting a seed and watching it grow into delicious, healthy food and would like to help others have such experience. As a society we are starting to understand the necessity of locally grown fresh produce and its superior quality. We believe that by knowing where our food comes from and nurturing it with our own hands we have a greater sense of accomplishment, success, and overall well-being.

Our Mission

The mission of Bountifyl Backyards is to inspire, motivate, and support, the revival of long lost art of backyard gardening for the purpose of growing one’s own food. As our motto states, we believe that You CAN Grow Your Own Food. We are reaching out to our neighbors with guidance through educational resources and direct, hands-on to turn any backyard into food producing plots of land that will generate the ideal balance between plants, animals (esp. bees), and soil without the use of chemicals or additives. The assistance provided goes hand in hand with the movement of growing your own food for better health and improved self-sustainability. The purpose of this organization is exclusively educational and charitable.
